As we’ve said before, asking the right questions in elearning quizzes is important. Multiple choice questions offer a great way to test users’ understanding of the subject. We’ve recently taken this to the next level by creating rapid fire questions that give learners a limited period of time to answer each question, with a bonus awarded for quick responses. And we have created a sample that you can look at:

Rapid Fire Questions: Topic
In the demonstration example above, we have created a Rapid Fire round of 8 questions. Each of these questions is about our Solar System. If you’re a bit of a space buff, these should be fairly easy for you. If not, then hopefully there’s one or two questions that you’ll remember from school days!
Rapid Fire Questions: Instructions
There are eight questions in total, and you have to answer each question within 15 seconds. The quicker you select the correct answer, the higher your score will be. If you run out of time, you will be shown the correct answer, and you’ll move on to the next question.
We developed this using Articulate Storyline. We used variables and triggers and made use of Storyline’s entrance and exit animations to get the question options to flow in and out in that lovely way that they do.
Have a play!
We invite you to have a play with our demonstration and have a look at what we have created. We’ve used rapid fire questions in elearning courses covering compliance training, health and safety and giving and receiving feedback, so the possibilities for its use are endless.
We’ll be posting a blog soon which explains in a bit more detail how we did this in Storyline, but if you have any questions, you can either tweet us at @GLADSolutions or send us an email to email@example.com. We’ll be happy to answer any questions you have!
